Expeditions Ship – Dauntless Update
We are on a Curiosity class ship. That means there are quite a lot of people on our ship. At Way Station Kongzi, we dropped off a team of Expeditions scientists and a squadron of marines and took on another squadron along with a new team of scientists that will continue to help with the scientific mission of the Dauntless. And for the first time, will be added two families who will join the crew on a transport ship that will be turned into a new way station.
With a crew of almost sixty for the next two weeks, we began work on recalculating the supplies and fuel the Dauntless has to take on to get to our final destination. We also had to allow for two stops in case we fly across a new scientific phenomenon or, you know, new life.
But the likelihood of that happening is quite rare. The Dauntless has had its share of new discoveries but the children of Curiosity were the ones who made contact with the first. And only those on the Gazette knows about it. Oh, and a few scientists on the Curiosity.
In addition to people, we do have a few animals. They are not for testing or eating. Like the mods, they are trained to do certain tasks that we are not able to do. Most of the time, it is because the space is too small and it helps to have a small animal that can get into those spaces. And even so, that is rare as we do have mods that can do that. You can say that they are there to back up the mods when one is not available to do the work. And the animals do not take the place of the mods to do any work on the ship. Cabbage the rabbit, wears a harness that can be equipped with tools to do the work.
We even have a rabbit suit for Cabbage and his two siblings. Oh, and we have a team of five squirrels as well.
