The first time I remembered going on vacation with my family was about four years old (earth years). My family waited until the pod was old enough to leave the planet.
It was also the first time I had visited Elixia, one of our seven moons that orbit our world. From an orbital stationed above the moon, we took a cruise liner to Cylere Ultimus and visited the nine habital planets and moons. It was an incredible experience.
At at that age, I can still remember everything. The sky fish of C’predora. Safari with the apex predators of XP-3. They’re like the dinosaurs that went extinct on your world. Then the resort moon of Ultimus . Think Disneyland but the size of Alaska.
Since then we have gone on other vacations including camping on asteroids, trails on dark planets. Orbited nebulas.
I cannot wait for you all to experience this. And you’re getting there. You know by now that your world is making some effort return to the moon. And human explorers will join your probes and rovers on Mars. I believe even before a permanent Mars base is established, vacationing around your world and even on the moon will be possible.
Right now, there are a few exciting options available that will feel like you are off on another world. A few days ago while I was browsing the Internet (yes, I have real time access even though I am hundreds of light years away), I came across this airship cruise.
Take a cruise to the North Pole of Earth and visit land that very view humans has ever visited or journey on a sky safari across Africa. That is the experience being offered by Oceansky Cruises on their new airships. From what I can see, these are as luxurious as anything the Hermes liners that travel between my sector and the Cylere worlds.
Of course, we stay on our carriages when we can to keep the costs down. It is not to say that space is “roughing it”.
What we see on holophotos and vids and experienced in immersion rooms are nothing like space camping experiences or stepping foot onto another world.
I am sure space tourism will be accessible to many humans in the near future. It will only be just for those fortunate enough to become astronauts or have the means to spend millions.
